Anyone else feel that there is no winding down happening in their school? I am secondary and hold a TLR. Y11 and 13 have finished so I have some gained time and with only a few weeks to go, things should be feeling easier.

Except they're......

NOT!!!

Observations, and of year exams/reports and planning for next year including some pretty big planning docs to be completed.

I'm utterly exhausted and quite frankly not feeling inspired enough to plan next year yet!

Tell me I am not alone and can make it to summer! Please!

Rainbowfudge not all secondary teachers get gained time either, due to being part time my deputy won't let me teach exam classes so I am KS3 only! So when my colleagues who all get a lot of gained time (2 yr 11 classes, 2 yr 13 classes) are moaning about cover I have little sympathy.

I last had gained time in 2014 and had to sort all my ante natal appointments into it!

My classroom was hotter than the sun today.

Was in my eldest's class this morning and before lunch the thermometer in there was at 29 degrees and will go higher this afternoon. I did mutter things to the class teacher that I was sure I'd read a bit of union guidance on the matter (I'd been re-doing my own union membership the previous day and it was all over their front page) too! The kids are absolutely wilting - even the resident livewires are more limp than live at the moment and it's reduced DD1's incessant talking to more normal levels!

Of sued wasn’t fun. The kids were absolutely amazing. The whole process was really stressful and effectively pointless because it was obvious they’d already decided what we were getting based on our data.

At least it’s over now. I’m not looking forward to September when I’m predicting a load of new crap will come from SLT.
