I'm doing a course in specialist support and I'm doing a question that I just don't understand!

It's - 'explain expectations about own work role as expressed in relevant standards.'

I knie it must be referring to minimum and occupational stabdards but I don't know where to start, any advice? My assessor has been useless.

Teacher Standards? Should be available online.

Support staff - but lots of things I'm finding seem to be obselete. 😔

You need to talk about how you see the role linking it to standards.
There are old TA standards or you could use the teachers standards as most will be relevant

Do you think it would be Ok to give examples of some of them? There are 69 standards so I'm assuming I dont need to trawl through each one but I've emailed my assessor 3 times now. X

So for the ta standards they are divided into four sections:
Personal and professional conduct
Knowledge and understanding
Teaching and learning
Working with others

That gives you four paragraphs within which you identify your role, how you see it, give examples from your experience and then link to 1 or 2 specific standards in that.
Add on an intro and conclusion paragraph and job done!

@AmazingGrace16 that makes so much sense, I've no idea why I couldn't think of that!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help. I think because it's my last question I've just hit a wall with the whole thing iykwim? Thanks again. Smile
