Shortage of maths teachers or NQTs in maths?

I am not sure that there really is a shortage of maths teachers where I am. My place of work has managed to piss off the best qualified maths teacher and her replacement didn’t last long either.

I teach maths on supply and have a degree in maths as well as PGCE.
However, will the fact that I was last on MPS5 go against me if I applied for a classroom teacher job? It seems employers are “crying” out foraths teachers but do they just want one in the cheap? My workplace is abysmal for this.
