School leavers gifts

Hoping for some advice for a dilemma.
I used to get on really well with my small group of year 11s. They started at the school the same time I joined so I felt they were a bit special to me. I always planned to get them a Parker pen as a gift to use in their exams. I always got gifts for my leavers. And now the time has come, a couple of them really don't deserve it anymore. Obviously this gift to them each will be quite expensive so I don't really want to spend it on people who really don't care. But the others are still lovely, wibu to only get the nice pen for the ones that have been consistently excellent students and just a small token for the others? Or should I still get the pens for everyone? Maybe this will leave things on a more positive note?
Or just sack it all off all together?
TIA for any comments.

You would be very unreasonable,

sack it off altogether.
write each one a little note with a memory you have of them and a wish for the future.
Job done.

I think you have to get them all the same, or something with similar thought/value. It will look really weird otherwise.

I’m not sure my Y11s would be particularly excited by a pen? I’d go for something cheaper, definitely not leave anyone out or downgrade their present and spend the money saved on something universally popular like Dominos pizza for your last lesson.

Thanks. I thought I would probably be unreasonable but just wanted to test the water and see what people actually said!

Definitely unreasonable. Pizza for all would be much more appreciated!

Last year I gave my Y11s a home made card (business card sized) with a 'lucky sixpence' stuck to it. You can buy them off Ebay for a couple of quid for about 25.

I then typed a good luck message cut round it with pinking shears and glued it on. Took about 30 mins, cost about £3 in total and they were all chuffed to bits.
