Has anyone experienced applying for a job advertised MPS and they accepted you on UPS?

I have always assumed a MPS job would go to UPS. Mine did. Just no TLR.

I thought the main pay scale included the upper tier? I recently applied for an MPS job, am at the top of the UPS and got it, they even threw in a responsibility point. Always worth the application!

I've had a different experience it that the last two jobs I enquired about which said MPS, both schools confirmed that M6 was the top they would pay, not UPS. They were both small primaries with very tight budgets, already 'top' heavy with UPS teachers. You can take the risk and apply anyway, then negotiate at interview, but bear in mind there won't always be wiggle room.
