Any advice on keeping class focused during the afternoon (ours runs from 1:00 to 3:20) year 3.

I do 2 pm lessons. 1:00-2:00, then 2:10-3:10. Ten min unofficial break inbetween- they get to move around/ chat to friends, sometimes we go outside or into the hall for a run around. They are always much more focussed for the second hour after that, i find.

Definitely a short break! And anything with writing first followed by a practical subject wherever possible.

It's Easter Sunday. Take a break please. 🌷

Story, handwriting or meditation for the first fifteen minutes after lunch, lesson, then break. Then next lesson.

I don't think it's surprising that when we used to do things like paint, craft and do proper science experiments in the afternoon behaviour was better.

Awww... don't primary school teachers spend whole afternoon playing sleeping lions any more?? I used to love the 'heads down on the desk and have a nap, children' days...
