What actually happens if you don't pass your appraisal?

There's no problem with my competency and all that, and my 'focus children' might even achieve their targets, but there's no fucking way I'm going to get all the random stuff I had to make up done this year.

Is it just that I won't get a pay increase? Because I'd happily pay that much to not do these extra things.

In my school depends where you are on scale. If main pay scale, you still progress as long as you have met teachers standards pretty much. If upper pay scale it hinges on others but mainly on the achievement one tbh. Ive met that pne before and not met another one but still passed.

What is the pay policy in your school?

Ours just means you don't move up the pay scale. Although often our head will put it down as partially met and move you up anyway. Hoping that will happen for me this year as like you there's nothing wrong with my teaching but I had fuck all chance of passing them as they were practically impossible!
