Not long started a new school after many years at my last. Previously SEN reviews have beeb timetabled during the day, if parents couldn’t attend then we would meet before or after school. In new school SEN review are to be done after school with parents. Due to the amount of children and staff meeting(s) this has meant that for the past two weeks I have either had to meet a parent after school or attend a staff meeting(s). AIBU to say that time should have been taken from a staff meeting to cover the time teachers are spending meeting parents?

Is it still within directed time? If you are a teacher without leadership responsibility then you should only be attending 1 meeting per week after school.

They should happen during the directed hours and you would be within your right to say you can't attend.

We do reviews in the daytime but quite often they will fall in our PPA time -sigh

They should be during the day.
Otherwise you are doing more directed time than you should be.

If they have to happen after school, ask which element of your directed time are you able to claim back to cover it
