Whoooooo
Very excited. I didn’t think I would as there were 3 other candidates all with way more experience, I’m doing my PGCE so will be NQT next year.

It’s a boarding school so 5.5 day week and after school/Saturdays are compulsory as it boarding duty once a week until 10.30pm. But on the flip side the teaching load is reduced, as NQT I will have 18 lessons (out of 30) a week.

Did I mention I am excited?

Aw I did my NQT year in a boarding school in a very similar set up and had a ball! Loved it. Stayed for 4 years until I had my DS.

Oh well done! I hope it is everything you are hoping for and that you gain lots of experience and enjoy it.

Wow sounds like an amazing opportunity. Are you teaching a subject or a particular year group? I've always wondered what it was like on the other side and have known teachers who have moved across and loved it (gone from part time in state schools to full time in public).

TheletterZ · 24/03/2018 20:56

I'm going to be teaching physics and some general science for years 7 and 8.
