I spent 8.5 hours...

Marking on my day "off" yesterday, only to pop on to Facebook to see three separate moans about how teachers "never do anything about...[insert moan about school transport or name calling during social times here]. No point to this other than a deep sigh to those who understand.

I know. I don’t know what to do with myself, really! All that lazing about making up of malicious untruths about pupils!

I teach at a secondary school with a high percentage of kids who are regularly in trouble, even when they didn’t do nothing!

At least I know my fellow teachers are slackers, just like me.

Wow! I just don't understand the thinking behind this. Teaching must be one of the most challenging jobs out there. But such an important one.

I'm not a teacher. I couldn't even imagine looking after that amount of kids.

The teachers at my son's school have all been amazing and I have so much respect for those of you who do it

Right there with you! I have spent hours recently marking year 11 and 12 mocks and giving detailed feedback to pupils. Only to have parents whinge about their child's grade - yes, the did poorly because they did no bloody revision

We also have a large number of pupils who get into trouble for nothing! Er, no, your kid was disrupting the lesson for all the other kids

I love my job and put a hack of a lot into it for the kids I teach but some days I despair!
