Advice reception or year 1

Hi I am an nqt in reception and loving it! However slt have asked me to move to yr1 for next year. I'm more than happy to move year groups but just not yet I feel another year in this area would better my own development. I have also invested a lot of time in to the development of the inside and outdoors eyfs development and would like to see this succeed/further improve before i move on. Any one have any advice on moving year groups after only 1 year??

If SLT have asked you to move, do you actually have a choice?

Ideally, 2 years in a year group before moving would be better, but they must have reasons for wanting you to move.

I've been given a day or 2 to think about their offer and provide my reasons for wanting or not wanting to move

However I'm more interested in the difference between r
and 1 and the transition

If you really have a choice another year in YR would be good to consolidate your practice. Y1 is very different and much more formal in most schools with all emphasis on English and maths.
