M6 0.6 pay after tax

Quite possible that no one will answer this as it's a very personal question but is anyone a teacher on M6 working 0.6 and wouldn't mind sharing there monthly take home after Tax, pension, student loan etc. Just trying to work out how much I'll get paid when I go back after my maternity leave. Feel like I dare not make any plans as I have no idea how to work out what I'll get and the NUT (or whose ever it is) calculator is so confusing.

Google the Tafkam TES pay calculator-it’s pretty much spot on.

Thanks Appuskids. Just been on it and feel like I've got a much better idea of what I should get once I'm back.

Oh I can help you with this. I am currently rly doing exactly this - I am 0.6 on M6 this year.
I take home 1,457 per month after: tax and NI, pension which is salary sacrifice (7%- I'm in a private school), and student loan.

Thank you so much Tomhazard

M6 won't necessarily mean the same amount in every school. Schools set their own pay scales now. The top and bottom are set in local authority schools. Academies can do what they like.

The salarycalculator.co.uk is good. For pro rata a ft teacher is paid for 32.5 hours of directed time a week. 0.6 is 19 hours.

I'm on M4 so can't help with the numbers I'm afraid but I just contacted the finance person at school asked them what my NET pay would be when I went back. They were happy to send me the figures.

anonteacher1 · 10/02/2018 05:50

M6 is so different across schools. I'm M6 on £43k fte, my 0.6 is £25,200

tomhazard · 10/02/2018 06:01

I thought pat scales were standard and it would be the same everywhere except London? Or is that old news?
Where in the country are you where M6 is 43k?!

TuftedLadyGrotto · 10/02/2018 07:35

Since 2014 each school was able to set their own pay scales within the minimum and maximum. Some school have 10 pay points in main scale for example.

You need to check your own school's pay policy.

tomhazard · 10/02/2018 08:23

Didn't even know that! But that's probably because I've not worked in a state funded school for a couple of years now so I'm a bit out of date.
I work in a private that pays just over 33k for M6 but after the main pay scale has its own.

Appuskidu · 10/02/2018 08:58

I think pay portability has now been scrapped as well, so if you are on m6 in one school, but more to another-you won’t automatically be entitled to m6 there.

anonteacher1 · 10/02/2018 11:49

I'm in a private school. M6 is £43k

anonteacher1 · 10/02/2018 11:50

Surrey.

tomhazard · 10/02/2018 13:04

well I'm at a crap paying private school then!
