Free Speech by teachers in the ckassroom

This is a thread about a thread. But as AIBU can sometimes be a world of its own I wondered what teachers here felt about the situation described in this area of the site - and in particular by the views expressed by some posters who have said that they're teachers.

It is of course, possible that the Original Poster may not be entirely kosher.

Hi, I read the thread at lunchtime. I was having a bad teaching day and could just imagine saying something stupid myself. Its so unlikely this teacher just said that out of the blue to a motivated and hard working class. This really highlights the fact that parents have NO CLUE what is going on. I wish we could show them.

I don't think the version of events the OP in other thread describes is actually correct.
