German exchange school

Hi

I live in southern Germany and recently someone asked me if I knew any secondary schools in the UK that would be interested in a school exchange. Their daughter is at a relatively new opened secondary school and as they have no exchange school, the school won't be able to do a trip to the UK, which they would like to. Is there anyone here that works in a school that would be interested?

TIA

I think sometimes arrangements arise from town-twinning. I know my DS's school's exchange originally came about this way. I think fewer schools are up for it these days though, due to safeguarding worries. You could possibly also try the British Council - not sure whether they do it for EU countries, but I think they facilitate things like pen pals.

I know that when I went on a German exchange many decades ago, it was because of a friendship between our teacher and a teacher in Germany from when they were at university together. When my teacher moved on, pupils from the German school exchanged with his new school.
