Hi , I’m a primary 1 teacher. This is our first year of using jolly phonics and myself and other primary 1 teacher are struggling to tell how far along we should be by now. We got through group 1 between term start and September weekend , but group 2 took a bit longer , we have just started group 3. How quickly were your classes moving through Jolly phonics ? Do you actually like jolly phonics? And is it just be who spends the whole day with the song in there head !!! ?😂

Hi we use Jolly Phonics alongside Letters and Sounds. I focused on Phase 1 before half term and have started on Phase 2 this week. We will do 4 letters/sounds a week. I like Jolly phonics as the combination of songs and actions really seems to support the children to learn the sounds.
