Supply teacher & newly pregnant

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has been in my situation. Just found out I was pregnant a few days ago. I'm a supply teacher, this September will be my second year. Even though supply doesn't pay during the holidays and days sick, it has given me my sanity back and most importantly, given me time with my family.

Now as it happens, I've fallen pregnant. I have two children from a previous relationship. They will start as Y10 and Y11.

So I have made an appointment with my GP for 12/09. I'm assuming I will have to tell my agency. How do schools feel about pregnant supplies? Is there anything I should be aware of or any tips?

Thank you in advance,

I have not been in your position, but I suspect that it would depend entirely on the schools that you sub for. We had a long term supply through her pregnancy (this would be different to day supply)

Where I work we would be quite happy as long as you could do the job.

But I think that there would be a point were your health and safety would have to come before all else and that, maybe, where the issues start.
