I'm a KS4/5 HOD responsible for two subjects (one BTEC & one academic A level) and 3 members of teaching staff. I'm planning on starting my mat leave at the start of October (if I can make it that long and if HR have hired a replacement).
What sort of things do I need to prepare for a handover? I've been working to set up all the BTEC paperwork so that's ready to go, and hopefully will use my KIT days to sort the sampling. One member of my department is very experienced and could run BTEC with her eyes closed but also has a massive whole school role and won't be able to monitor my replacement.
I'm thinking SOLs are important, even though we don't rigourously stick to them normally. Anything else?
