TA interview task...please help

Hello,

I've been invited to interview for a TA role and asked to prepare a 10-15 min task for a group of six y7s. I've not been given guidance on whether it's literacy or numeracy and won't have the chance to phone and find out until tomorrow (I was left a voicemail). Interview is this week and I have minimal prep time.

Please please please can anyone suggest a starting point for me? I've been told it can be a physical or construction activity, a board game or a speaking and listening task. I am utterly lost and so badly want to get this job.

TIA

If they've suggested a board game or construction task it's most likely that they'll be looking at your general interactions and support and inclusiveness for all of the group as well as behaviour management. Remember they'll be year 7 getting ready for year 8 (so older year 7's if that makes sense. You don't have a very long activity session so possibly newspaper construction task in groups (bridge, towers, a structure to support something like a fruit) which is achievable within the time. Just some ideas, but someone may be along with better ones.
Good luck :)

Scattergories is a great game for all learning levels. Multiplication bingo, bananagrams if you have a set at home to take in.
They will be looking at how you interact not specifically the task. Good luck

How did it go?

I'm so sorry, didn't see your post until now.

I didn't get the job, second place out of three. Good feedback, though, and another post being advertised soon which I may apply for.

Thank you for your help.
