Pro Rata Salary

I've accepted a HLTA role but I have only been given a salary that will be pro-rata. I'm really struggling to get the information about what the actual salary will be. It is 32 hours a week- term time only. Anybody know how to calculate it?

Depending on what they consider to be a full time week it would be -

Salary x(32/(number of hours in a full time week) x (39/52)

So if you earn £15k per year and a full time week is 35 hours you would earn

£15k x (32/35) x(39/52) = £10,285.71.

They might also pay your for holiday as well though (4 weeks?) which would be

15000 x (32/35) x (43/52) = £11,340.66.

Thank you, I need to find out what they consider to be a full time week and what the holiday allowance is. I wondered if there was a quick calculation as they haven't actually told me the actual salary (despite being asked).
I'm starting to worry that it might be a lot lower than I first thought!

Your salary will be based on (this is the calculation we use at my school) 46.1 weeks of the year or after 5 years service 46.9 as these figures include holiday.
37 hours is what my authority bases a working week on.

Definitely depends on local authority - If you work term time not including insects that would be 43.31/52, then 32/37 for your hours. Also worth noting if you are an academy they may have their own rules.

Yes, it will be prorata as well.

Have you phoned HR rather than the school, they should be able to tell you their actual calculation. It's basically as explained above but there is some variation on the actual weeks and full time hours worked. Salary x 32/37 * 45/52 where I am
