Dh has found that the job he's doing, that he took as short term job but was assured would be permanent (I know, we were bit too trusting) has been given to an nqt. He's very upset as the slt have said its purely budgetary. Anyway, that's that. He's now looking for something from Sept, I was wondering how the job market is in the west midlands/Staffordshire, for primary schools. He's been teaching for 13 years with lots of experience. Thanks, sorry to ramble. Trying not to panic.

Sounds like he should be fine due to all his experience. I am in a similar position, am doing a maternity cover until the end of term but it was strongly emphasised at my interview that it would more than likely turn into something permanent. It hasn't and now I'm desperate to find a position for September. I teach science and thought scientists were in short supply but apparently not where I live! Good luck to you both :)

I thought science was much sought after too. Really hope you get sorted. Its horrible the uncertainty.
