Application cover letter help please

Please can anyone help me word my application cover letter? I've filled in the form, written my supporting letter but not sure how to word the body of the email. It was so much easier when it was all done by post!
Does this sound okay?

Dear headteacher name and governing body,

Pleas find attached to this email my application form and supporting letter for the position of **.
I hope to have the opportunity to discuss my application with you in person and look forward to hearing from you.

I'm currently employed by the school I'm applying for on a temporary contract. The job I'm going for is what I'm currently doing but permanent. Should I add anything extra to the email as I'm already familiar with the school and the staff?

I think it looks fine.

I am also applying for an internal position and advice is to treat it as if it's an external job. Is it being advertised elsewhere?
