Job application help please

Two questions:

1. What is better if either option is acceptable- a printed and posted application and cover letter or an emailed copy of application and cover letter?

1. If the school website and advert don't have the headteacher' name anywhere where can you find it out? The OFSTED report is from 2013 so head may be different? I can't find any info on who I address my application to anywhere!

1. as someone who reads applications I want an electronic copy. I can always print it.

2. as someone who works in schools I am very surprised that the head's name is not on the website - post the link and we'll find It!

1. Some like electronic. Some like paper. If you can do both, win-win.

Is there a downloadable copy of the prospectus on the website? That will have the head's name in it.

I've not tried to look for a prospectus- will do so now. The website is awful - really patchy and doesn't look especially professional. It's a 'bad' school with poor OFSTED that has just been re-invented as an academy so I think it's all change hence the lack of clear info. I'd rather not post the school as it's a bit outing and you never know who might be teaching at the school I'm applying to that's already on mumsnet!

Yes there is and there is an email address for the PA to the principle however they are closed for Easter. I'll try calling them tomorrow in case there is someone in the office.

You'll find the HTs name on Edubase.

The job ad should say in which format they want their applications!

If they do want it electronically make sure you print, sign and scan. That will make the HR department happy
