Exam marking - do you get the whole paper?

I'm marking paper 2 of the new spec English and just wondering if i will get the whole paper or just parts of it? My colleague said they send parts which I'm hoping is the case! I have an allocation of 1000 and I know how long it took to make 100 full papers last summer when we did mocks at school.

I can't find the answer online so if anyone knows I would appreciate that.

I think it depends on the board and the paper. I used to mark and had the whole paper, but others I knew didn't. You need to ask your exam board.

Your school last year is a bit behind the times. Unless you are a dept of one, is normal efficiency to divvy out the questions among the teachers rather than everyone marking the whole paper.

Sorry I meant to say we did mocks and all marked a section of the papers between us. I did section a of paper 2.

You get an agreed number of each question but they are from different candidates so you will not mark the whole paper for an individual student. Senior examiners mark whole papers that cannot be scanned e.g.those that are typed and those that are too difficult to read on screen. I mark GCSE English too.

Brill thank you. I was a little concerned at the allocation amount and the length of paper 2! But if it's part paper then that's doable

I would check with the exam board to find out if the number is for individual clips (questions) or full papers. I am an experienced examiner but wouldn't want to mark that number of full papers on a new spec.
