Functional Skills/Entry Level English help, please!

Just about to take over tutoring a girl who isn't in school. The word is she's bright but hasn't done much in the way of anything other than art and so is being put forward for Functional Skills.

With no prior experience of teaching this, and not being able to go to the department book cupboard for resources, could anyone out there tell me the best books/websites to use, please?

Functional skills english has three parts
reading
writing
speaking and listening
Get onto one of the exam board site and work out what the end point will be. Don't go for too high a level.
skills workshop is as good as place as any to get some ideas.

Thanks, that looks like a great place to start:)

Can you remind me which is the higher level, Functional Skills or Entry Level?

L2 is equivalent to half a B grade GCSE (used to be C)
L1 is equivalent to GCSE grade D
E3 is about GCSE grade E/F
all are functional skills.
E2 and E1 exist if necessary

ConfusedFunctional Skills grades are equivalent to GCSE ones?
