Which school

Lucky to have been offered work for September: one in a non-selective private school and one in a local comp- used to be terrible but improved and is average these days. I have only ever worked state before, and I really liked both schools when I visited and interviewed. 0.6 in both which suits me, although I would like the opportunity for job prospects and senior position when my children are a bit older. I've got to decide by tomorrow and no idea what to do! Anybody worked in a private and hated it or wasn't what they thought?

If you have only worked in the state sector why not try the indie to broaden your experience? Which is nearer/more convenient? Does the indie have smaller classes? If so, less marking...

After 15 years in state, i am now in my 3rd year private and love it for many reasons! Pros- Hols are longer (although school day is too!), classes are smaller ( i have 9 in my class) and the curriculum is more flexible.
Cons- Parents are much more demanding (they are entitled to be when paying, i suppose!) and are able to contact me any time by email. We are also expected to attend some weekend events.
Ultimately, the children and the teaching are the same as state, but smaller class sizes does it for me!

Well one is 6 miles West and one is 6 miles East so no difference there!
The class sizes are smaller and the holidays are longer so I'm veering towards it! It would be nice not to be dealing with behaviour all the time
