Wondering how much pay differs in different prep schools, as it doesn't seem that pay scales are as clear cut as in the maintained sector.
I'm looking at an assistant head role, one is advertised at 45, another in a different school says 'competitive' but a friend who used to work there says she thinks it will be less.
Another friend of mine is a teacher in a prep and her pay is pretty much in line with maintained, but someone else I know is a deputy head on 40 something. Is it entirely down to the school?
