Best teacher presents

My Dd is going to school in September. Her preschool teachers are doing an AMAZING job with her. I'm an ex-teacher myself and DH is a teacher but we're still both absolutely blown away by her progress.

I always loved edible/drinkable teacher gifts but I want to get them something extra special.

Any ideas, wise people of Mumsnet?

Alcohol. Preferably not a cheap bottle of wine, but I'm not really that fussy. (A couple of lads in my form clubbed together last year and got me a few bottles of real ale, which I appreciated.) Failing that, chocolates. Nice ones, not Quality Street or that kind of rubbish. Secondary here.

We don't need or want presents, it's all about the joy of dragging guiding little Johnny through his early years/SATs/GCSEs/A-Levels! A lovely home-made card would just be wonderful, and indeed something to treasure!

My Tip for teacher gift this summer -
I am a Secondary teacher and we don't really get presents from the students, but a lovely card is always very much appreciated.

However, my kiddies love to make or give something to their primary teachers and I love that they want to show them their appreciation.

Cheap terracotta plant pot, poster paint and / or chalk pens to decorate. You can write 'Thank you Miss Emily' or whatever around the rim. Then a coat of clear varnish and pop a small house plant in it.

I'm recycling the idea for reception teachers this year and wondering how many years I can milk it for!

Afternoon tea voucher?

Yes a voucher for afternoon tea. I got 2 last week so lovely times ahead. I also love book tokens as my first port of call on holidays is always the bookshop..
