Thank you gift for mentor

I know there are loads of teacher Christmas gift threads flying around, but I'm a school direct trainee and would like to get my mentor something to say thanks. I'm not really sure what to get as I don't want to buy anything similar to what the kids will get. He's quite young, so I was thinking possibly a bottle of a spirit? Is this appropriate? We get on really well and I know he does drink. Or any other ideas?
Thanks

Alcohol, chocolates or biscuits are the usual gifts from trainees. A card detailing how he has helped you would be good too as he can put it in his performance management file.

Personalised notebook or note block?
