Leave or stay?

Would you continue to stay in a school if you enjoyed your job but didn't agree with the new Head teacher's methods and changes or respect them?

In short no. I love my school but am moving after a change of head and change in the working of the school.

No. If you don't agree with or respect the changes you won't enjoy your job for long. I've just been through the same thing and resigned recently.

No. Unless it's likely that the new head is going to leave again soon...or generally leaves me alone. I like to be left to do my job, though. Getting too old for all the nonsense.
Have moved twice so far because of issues with SLT (have worked at four different schools) - was even a member of SLT in one case.

I am trying to decide whether I should stay put or wait until I have a new job to go to. The problem is jobs in my subject rarely come up. My department is great but there are so many changes being made by new head, the school is becoming unrecognisable. So many staff have left.

I would keep looking. Give your CV and covering letters to schools you would like to work with.

I think when philosophies clash and the head doesn't look like he or she will leave then the problem can only escalate.

No. Yesterday was my last day at a school I loved. But I can't stay. It's not good for me or the kids.

No, I wouldn't stay. I handed in my notice at one school, without a job to go to because I know I could not continue working under that particular headteacher.

I have just left my school for this reason, amongst some other things too, having been there for over a decade. I handed in my notice with no job to go to, thinking that come September I would do supply if I hadn't got a permanent role. I do have a job now for Sept, and while I'm not 100% sure it will be the right school for me, I am 100% sure that leaving was the right thing to do.

I think you should leave because if you stay you'll end up hating it.
