Ok i work for a teaching agency, ive been at the same school for around 6 months, I love working at this school and have worked there previously.

Now they have had a job come up and I would like to apply for it, however I have been for an interveiw there last year and I went to peices, i also went for interviews at other schools and went to peices, so my confidence went to shit.

I do an all right job if I do say so myself, but im torn, if I apply for it and I dont get it then my confidence gets worst, if i dont go for it I just keep moving from school to school, I keep thinking if I apply and dont get it then theres nothing to lose, but im not so sure I can face another rejection if that makes sense? what would you do?

Why don't you talk to the school about the vacancy and your concern about falling to pieces at the interview and see what they say? I don't know where in the country you are, but round here (south east) lots of schools had no applications at all for vacancies before the May resignation deadline. Now, it will only be people who aren't on a permanent contract for some reason who can apply for a job to start in September. That puts you at an immediate advantage, in my opinion. Might be worth clarifying though if the agency expects a fee if the school employs you...

Interviews tend to follow a standard format. Could you find out what it is so you are mentally prepared for the interview?
For instance, there will always be a safeguarding question.
There will probably be one on subject knowledge - how would you teach X topic.
It's likely that there will be a 'conflict of interest question'. And so on....
Prepare as much as you can, so you feel as confident as possible on the day.

Thanks, I know the sort of things they ask and pre prepared for the last one lol, and at the last interveiw I was totally fine till I actually got into the room and then when they asked me something my mind went blank, im ok if its one to one, but when its three or four to one my nerves get the better of me xxx
