How long would you expect a teacher to stay on TMS1 if they were meeting all targets?

I'm a HT. I presume TMS1 is what used to be called M1? In our LA, if they meet all targets set for them then they go to M2 the following September.
However, with the removal of the national pay structure it can now be down to individual schools to determine when/if staff move to the next pay point. This can often be budget dependent.

Can I ask a question please?
How much planning would you expect a supply teacher, who teaches at your school one day a week, to be doing?

Rainbowcolours1 · 08/05/2016 21:30

I wouldn't expect a supply teacher to plan. If they were regular supply with regular classes then if they offered to do any planning we'd be very grateful...but not something we expect.

Thank you for the reply. I was wondering what the rules are for teachers planning for their ppa cover? I have been told they can't be expected to do this - is that correct?
