Can threshold payments be backdated?

I know I probably need to see my school's policy on this, but in principle, can you be given back pay if it's decided that you have been reaching post-threshold standards for the past year?

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought so, you need to make an application to go through threshold so if you met the standards but didn't make an application you wouldn't qualify.

My threshold pay was backdated to September.

Yes, September is what I would mean. Thanks

Yes they can but its at the discretion of the Head. I applied to go onto the UPS in April and the head offered to backdate it to Jan.

Yes I have seen this at work - sometimes years, provided you have met the criteria (which by your op you seem to have done).

You can always give a ring to your personnel department (am assuming you have a local authority or similar supporting the school's payroll and personnel functions).

I went through in November and got it backdated to September.

I was appointed at M6 last May (after several years at UPS 3 but then back to M6 in an academy). The head informally (phone conversation as she offered) said we would 'see how it goes' regarding pay level.

I have demonstrably been working within UPS standards since I started, as that's just the way I work. I'm not going to be refusing to work school-wide, make impact throughout the school and beyond, mentor and support others etc simply because my pay grade doesn't require it.

I hate talking about money!
