Exam certificates can you guide?

Hi there, I have just been offered a sparkly new job that involves background checks. The company involved wants my exam certificates but they are lost in the 29 years and several house moves since I left school.

Can you suggest how I might get hold of copies? Does the exam board keep copies? It will be my o and a level cents taken in Kent in the late 80's and my OU cent taken in London in 1998.

Sorry, I know this isn't a great thread fit but I figured who better to ask than teachers. Thank you in advance.

I phoned round the current exam boards and asked for their help. So Edexcel, and sadly can't recall the names of the others. It cost me about 70 quid I think to get copies.
I was impressed at their efficiency as I took my exams in the 70 s!

In our school exams office we get this query a couple of times a month easily. You need to know which board you took each of your exams with. If your school/college still exists, call them and ask to speak to the exams officer who will be able to tell you.
All the boards from that time have been amalgamated in to the new boards.
Then google 'lost exam certificates' (sorry. Can't link from my phone). The .gov.UK website will tell you which board is amalgamated with which and has links to the board you will need to contact for each exam.
If you cant get hold of your old school, then contact the boards directly and ask them to search, they will probably charge. The main ones are AQA, OCR and Edexcel.
