Does anyone still use NC levels?

My children's school is still using them but have shifted the expectations so DD in year 5 is judged as 4B but on her report it says she is 'working towards' age related expectations.

I teach year 2 and we are using target tracker and rising stars alongside the interim teacher assessment guidance - I thought using NC levels still was a big No-No. Any experience/opinions?

We are at secondary level.

No. We have moved onto our LA's breakdown which I imagine is similar to Rising Stars.

I can't see how sticking with NC levels would really be of any benefit now.

I don't see how it would be either. DD is a really good reader who spends at least an hour reading every night and reads widely. She was really upset by her report saying she was 'working towards' (which is the eyes of a 9 year old reads 'below') and I am worried whether the assessment system is fit for purpose in the new curriculum.

Slightly off-track, but how do you find the Rising Stars assessment materials?

Rising stars? Harder than the sample SATs materials in maths and reading. Spag materials are fine.
