Moving between key stages

Just wondered if it is common/easy/hard.
I've been in UKS2 for the past few years and I don't want to get stuck in a rut but I'm also anxious if I got moved to KS1 or FS. Is it awful because you have to pretty much retrain yourself or has anyone found it a positive learning experience?

I did it and I survived! The learning curve was vertical, and I did it in a very small school so there wasn't anyone to ask questions of. If it hadn't been for on-line support I really don't know if I would have made it or not. But 3 years on I'm very happy in year 1 - completely, completely different to year 6, but good fun and I have no plans to swap back for a while. (I did it because as a Maths specialist, I wanted to learn how the children develop early concepts of number and calculation - al lthe things that they came to me in year 5 & 6 already secure in. It's been fascinating finding out.)

I've done it several times, it's fascinating looking at the foundations of their education and seeing the links between that and their further learning.
If you're anxious I'd avoid EYFS for the moment, it's completely different.
But KS1? Go for it!
