What is this...apart from the obvious chat with your kids and listening them talk about their learning? What are they really after? I was told today my kids were the best in the school after their chats...best at what?

Did you not ask what they were best at?

Different schools use different terminology for the same things. Do you mean parents evening? if you mean parents evening, it is for the parents to know how their child is doing, so you can talk to your children about it and know how best to support them at home.

In my school, a secondary, conferences are where a representive of each subject sits in a room together to discuss the progress of a particular group of student and what the school can go with each individual student to get the best outcome for the students.

Nope didn't get the chance to.It was done by external assessor and the Head in her office with small groups of my kids and their maths books.Not a parents evening.

Are youba teacher? Who was the assessor? What were they assessing?

Not sure what you mean by youba teacher I'm afraid. The assessor is a chap who comes in every now and again to assess the Head, her ability to do her job. Ofsted are all over this requirement at the moment.

Sorry typo, 'you a'. I am not sure who the assessor is, somebody from local education authority or academy chain?
