next steps marking

I'm a primary teacher and as a school we need to improve our next steps marking and feedback. We have had lots of meetings about where we are going wrong, but not much info on how to do it. What makes good next steps marking in your experience? Especially in writing.

3 types of prompt;

  • scaffold prompt
  • example prompt
and another one I can't remember! Giving the children opportunity to respond to marking. better than that, having 1:1 sessions with each child (we call it pupil mentoring) every few weeks where you discuss their progress and their next steps. PM me if you want me to email our policy which was borne out of a previous OFSTED Smile
