book suggestions - year 2

Hi all. Hope you are enjoying your Christmas hol!
Just wondering if you had any suggestions for books suitable for a year two class. For an interview I have a 20 min session in which I have to present a text to a group of year twos and then encourage discussion. Initially was thinking of chapter one of The BFG then Getting them to come up with some adjectives in pairs but not sure if this may be too advanced? Also considered a chapter from George's marvellous medicine but perhaps a short story in its entirety may be better?!?

My son was in Year Two last year and studied George´s Marvellous Medicine, which he really enjoyed. He has also read some other Roald Dahl including The BFG, as have some of his friends. I think your plan sounds good.
