Just trying to understand if I swap from full time to p/t contract? will it have any minimal guaranteed hours, e.g if I opt for 0.7 and next year school said there are not enough teaching hours - would it go to 0.6 or could it go ridiculously wrong and go to 0.2 etc?

A permanent part time contract can't be changed by either party without 're-negotiation' as far as I know. However, a rolling p/t contact could be re-negotiated as each period the contract covers is up.

I am pt and do three and a half days a week, never had any problems. Nevere been messed about, job share works fine and we meet up to sort out changeover. It gave me my life back. The class actually gets on better with two teachers. I have responsibility for Literacy, the job share partner for maths. Works fine.
