What does your school use to track assessment/progress?

Sims? Sheffield STAT? Target tracker?

My school is investigating what to use but we're baffled! Some software breaks each year group down into 6 steps, others into 3.

Bring back the old NC levels-I knew where I was with those!

We are still using levels. We put data in to SIMS and then track it using SISRA.

Is it not hard to assess using old levels against the new curriculum? Eg what would a level 2c look like?

We use Itrack, one of the many online systems. It's okay for summative assessment, number crunching etc but doesn't really support teachers day to day.
We're currently looking at various resources and trying to find a way forward that makes sense for us in the classroom. Quite liking the NAHT stuff and some of the Learning Challenge Curriculum resources.

Spto. Love it. Really does support planning as well as tracking.

Learning Ladders as it was the system recommended by our LA. Our HT looked at all sorts of options, didn't particularly like any of them and so decided that if we went for the LA default (along with the other local primaries), then at least the secondary school would be getting comparable data.

There are so so so so so many problems with the current lack of ways of measuring attainment and progress I don't even know where to start ranting!

Lets face it - the whole thing is a complete and utter fuck up - no other way to describe it.

It's a nightmare! Nobody knows what any sort of level looks like anymore so there's no consistent standard across year groups!

Everything to do with assessment is a shambles at the moment. The new GCSEs will only make it worse.

Target Tracker, assessed using rising stars for reading and SPAG, assertive mentoring for maths.

None of this helps my EHC request paperwork .

Can I ask why you use Rising Stars and not Target Tracker to assess? No highlighting of statements???

Can I ask for opinions from anyone using the Rising Stars assessments? please say it's not just us pulling our hair out about the expectations.

I read a lot of comments online last summer about how hard the Rising Stars assessments were, particularly in Maths. Personally, I avoid like the plague anything from Rising Stars because they just seem to be massively over-priced. Our KS2 teachers had them for Maths and maybe GPAS - they said that they were very hard.

Our VP has decided we are using them. That's all the info we've had about it really.

We are using Target Tracker and we also do Rising Stars assessments (the two systems don't seem to have much to do with each other). I am struggling using TT to 'level' the children as most of the areas have only just been touched up and you can't expect children to be secure in them at this time of the year. I also have an issue that half my class have come up with unrealistic targets from year 1 due to the previous teacher's interpretation of some of the statements (I don't blame her for this, just lack of moderation between year 1 and 2). I don't think any of this will make much sense until we have been through the new SATs a couple of times. And they can't even agree on them yet!

About a million different things , the only one of which that is any use to me as a classroom teacher is our departmental tracker.

We are also supposed to use classroom monitor, doddle, eportal, pixl checklists, personal trackers alongside the departmental spreadsheet. It's exhausting .
