Japan for a school trip

Has anyone run or worked at a school that has run a trip to Japan?

I'm thinking cultural experience- bit of history, art, martial arts and sociology experiences whilst over there.

Tours seem much more expensive than China- by about £400, anyone know why this is? Any tips as to what I can suggest to the tour company to bring the price down??

Any advice is gratefully received Smile

Do you teach Japanese? Exciting!
Tours in Japan are more expensive because Japan as such is more expensive than China.
How long will your trip be, and what final budget are you looking at approximately?
