Has anyone taught 'When will there be good news?' for A Level?

DD (16) has just begun A Level Eng Lit, and is studying this text. She claims the teacher is 'crap', and despite being an English teacher, I don't teach A Level, we don't use the same exam board and none of my colleagues who teach KS4 have read it. What should I be looking out for to help her (am halfway through reading it) and does anyone have any details on the spec (AQA Literature B)? I'm currently on mat leave so my brain is mush but I'd like to help her if possible!

I've taught "Behind the Scenes at the Museum" for A Level (same author, different spec) There won't be much in the way of exemplars as it's the new spec, unfortunate. With Kate Atkinson, I'd look at post modern techniques: shifts in narrative voice, the unreliable narrator, awareness of and direct address to the reader, intertextual references, both to other literary texts and to popular culture. Kate Atkinson's own website has some good "book group" style questions about her novels which might help as a starting point.

Thank you, yes I did try to look on the AQA website but my school doesn't use AQA so I have no login and the HOD said when I spoke to her that it was a new spec so she wasn't sure herself! That's really helpful Lizzie, I can think of lots of examples of the things you've raised so I will sit down with DD later and go through it. Saturday nights rock in my house!
