As a subject leader, what are you expected to do? How much more than a subject leader without a TLR2?

Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payments

Classroom teachers who take on extra responsibility could be awarded a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment. To get a TLR2 payment, teachers have to show they have a specific responsibility, which focuses on teaching and learning and needs professional skills and judgment. This responsibility must be one that exceeds that of the standard classroom teacher and it should be clearly defined in your job description.

In order to qualify for a TLR1 payment you must meet all the criteria for TLR2 and be a line manager for a significant number of people.

Are we talking secondary? Every subject leader in my school had at least a tlr 2 and the heads of maths, English, science are on tlr 1s.
I'm ultimately responsible for all results in my department. I carry out all lesson obs in my department, organise work scrutiny, Carry out appraisals, regularly monitor data and report to slt. I'm responsible for budget and ordering resources. I put into place schemes of work and assessments for three key stages and I deal with behaviour issues and parental complaints occasionally.

I forgot exam and coursework administration.

I have a tlr2 for being student voice coordinator. All heads of dept have a tlr1 as they are line managers and in charge of others. Unless they are a lone dept in my school that is.

Thank you. I was actually thinking more about primary school. I'm the English coordinator and have led the subject for a couple of years with a TLR2. I've had some time out of class and have done small amounts of monitoring but we have a new head and she is going to give me half a day out a week. She wants better leadership from me in order to move my subject on. I'm excited but nervous as I don't really like monitoring my peers and feeding back! I think I will also have to model lessons. That's why I'm interested to know what the expectations are for a TLR2 teacher.

In September I will be one of the the keystage leaders in my primary school. My key stage has 2 full time teacher and 2 part time teachers, plus about 10 TAs and over 100 children over 3 different year groups. I will also be responsible for an area of school development which is not a curriculum area, but encompasses many different areas of the curriculum at various points in the year. I will be on the bottom end of TLR2, and will have half a day a week non-contact time.

I'm in primary, but mostly have the same responsibilities as FuzzyWizard. I've got subject leadership responsibilities (core subject) in addition to phase leadership. I've been subject leader for my current subject and an additional area of whole-school development for a few years previously, but not on a TLR.
