Proud of being a teacher....?

I'm sorry if this post is in the wrong place; it's to do with end of year presents for teachers.

As a cohort, the class has pooled in and got the teachers vouchers. However DS' teachers have been wonderful with him and I wanted to get them a little remembrance (without breaking the bank since we've already contributed to the group gift). So I thought of getting luggage tags with their names and a little tag saying my favourite teacher/ the best teacher ever.

Hubby however is of the view that they wouldn't want their profession on the luggage tag.

So....good idea/ bad idea?

I am a teacher and I would love this gift. It sounds very thoughtful. I can't see why a teacher would want to keep their profession a secret?

Yes, I'd love that too. It's a great idea to have something a bit different than a best teacher mug too (not that I don't love those!).

I would have thought that this is the best place to ask. I still think it's a nice idea.

I contributed to the class collection, from which a plate was bought (with the class names on it) but I still got an extra little something too.

I think that is a lovely idea, I haven't ever received them and it is always nice to be given something a little different.

In my DD's class, they bought their form teacher a tea towel of the Periodic Table, with the elements replaced by the initials of one of her class. (She was a science teacher)

I'm not sure whose idea it was, but she was thrilled.

(I haven't described it very well, so you'll have to trust me!)
