exhaustion - can I go on a reduced hours till the end of the year?

not much left of school till the end...but I feel so tired and exhausted. i cannot take the whoel days off due to projects at school which I am responsible for. Can I go on a reduced hours till the end of the year?

TBH everyone is tired.

I think either get signed off again for the rest of term or you need to go in.

Is there any medical reason for your tiredness?

If not, you just need to suck it up like the rest of us.

If you are ill then your doctor can recommend part time hours on a fit note. I think is normally just a return to work thing.

I agree with the PP - we're all tired at the moment. If you're unfit for work, call in sick or see your GP. If you're tired, then try to conserve energy where you can and get some early nights.

That may sound harsh, but I cannot think of a teacher I know who isn't battling through tiredness right now.

I agree with others too. Everyone I know is exhausted. I would dearly love to go part time/reduced hours but in the next 9 working days I have a KS3 production, awards evening, a 2 day external review and activities week. 17th July can't come soon enough.

If you're fit for work you go in. If you're unfit get signed off.

I'm a teacher in NI so have finished term already but I do appreciate that exhaustion that you are feeling. There is no "winding down" in my school in the last few days or weeks-quite the opposite! But you are nearly there! Just keep on, keeping on and the end of term WILL come! I worked until 3.30am three night during the last week of term and had a school production over 3 nights the week before, but it's over now and I'm up in the wee hours through choice now! Your turn will.come!

Attitudes like the OP's are one of the reasons why teachers get short shrift from non-teachers!

Tiredness, unless there is a medical reason, is just something you have to get over. Go to bed earlier. Sleep in at the weekend.

You keep starting threads on this subject and then abandoning them.

Without wanting to sound callous, I think it's time you seriously consider leaving teaching. You have posted so many times about capability, not wanting to return after being signed off, OH referrals, etc, etc.

Just to make non teachers hate us all the more, it's 7 weeks holiday this year. I will say, though, that I've never had a more exhausting job, including 12 hours a day in publishing. It's feast or famine!

I work 8.30 - 4. Stay late, go in early, Bring work home in the evenings and weekends.

Am currently managing the move of 1000+ people from one building to another with hard deadline. Delivering late is not an option and its very stressful. By Friday evenings I am knackered.

After we deliver that project at the end of July, its straight on to the next one, and so on infinitum.

I have 23 days holiday per year plus BHs.

I am not complaining because I enjoy it. Just trying to put things in perspective for the OP.
