internal appointments

Just need a little moan…
I've applied for 5 DHT posts in the last year. One I wasn't short listed for, as I don't have EYFS experience. That leaves 4 interview processes - 4 internal appointments. Why can't schools be braver and go with an outsider? Or just not mess people around and appoint without the hassle for others.
Just feeling a little down.
However, I am experiencing a wide variety of interviewing processes.

It must be frustrating as preparing applications takes time.

I thought that there was a legal requirement for all HT and DHT roles in maintained schools to be advertised, though I could be wrong.
