Questions to show interest in the school/children

I'm going for an informal visit to an Infant school as a prospective candidate for the Business Manager role. I think I'm a strong candidate in terms of my financial background, maybe not so much in school.

Please can anyone suggest some questions I can ask to show suitable interest in the children and the school itself?

What's the best thing about being at this school? (If you are talking to a child)

What's your favourite activity?
Best school dinner
Fav club or trip
What your fav writer/book/game/app/colour?

Anything really, smile, look interested.

My worst question from kids panels is to tell a joke so have one ready I can never remember.

Why did the hedgehog say "ouch"?

Because he had his coat on inside-out!!!

When I was asked 'what's your favourite joke?' I got the children to tell me a joke and I picked my favourite! Lol

(To the head) What are their priorities to improve facilities/the building/resources

How have they been affected by universal free meals

How much pupil premium do they get and how do they spend it
