Ok ladies and gents... got my first EVER secondary interview on Thursday swiftly followed by my second on Friday (go figure...) and I am completly bricking it.

Any general advice much appreciated!!

Also... if there are any drama teachers out there slightly more specific advice VERY greatly appreciated!!! Its a physical theatre class (thinking of doing something funky with bamboo sticks...) so I am wondering what on earth to wear. I'm thinking smart but flexible top and slip into joggers just before lesson? HELP!!!

Congratulations! Two interviews in a week is great. Do you prefer one school to the other?

First of all, be confident. You need to sell yourself. But it's a fine line, don't be overly cocky. Just be polite, smile, try to remember who is who when they introduce you to SLT and so on.

Do your homework on the school. Know their motto, their Ofsted, their ethos, their results etc.. Have a few clever questions ready to ask while there, i.e. how their behaviour system works or rewards. Progress for yourself, appraisals and so on. How they can support you in your developing career.

The key I think is to be prepared. I had two in a row about this time last year. First school I didn't really like and went in unprepared and didn't get it. Worried that I might also mess up the second interview, the school I really wanted, I went to TES and found the section for common interview questions. It really helped, many of those questions were asked. I had answers prepared in my head and knew what to say. I got the job (and still happily working there now). There is always going to be a safeguarding questions, definitely prepare for it.

Can't think of more at the moment, but hope that helps. Good luck, hope you get one of them.
