How do you manage visiting other schools before applying?

This will not go down well with my HT, unless I can do it during my PPA time. What do other people do? Only visit after school hours? Thanks.

I've either done after school or in my ppa. I find after school useful because I can get a feel for if I want to apply before letting anyone at the current school know I am thinking of going.

After school gives enough of a feel, doesn't it? Don't really need to see the kids in action I suppose!

I've not visited any of the schools I'm currently applying to...(I try, but I'm usually not able to make the set dates and times.) It doesn't appear to be a problem, since I've got several interviews coming up. It does mean, however, that I am prepared to walk away on the day, if I really dislike the place. Grin The last one I went to didn't feel right. Hmm
