I don't really understand this bit though

The commission announced today will help schools develop their own, more accurate assessment systems that truly show how a child is performing in the classroom.

Schools are making up their own systems currently which bear no relation to what anyone else is doing. I don't see how this is a good thing!!

It all seems to still have quite a narrow focus. When trying to assess cohorts of pupils' progress across different schools etc, it's a bloody nightmare.
